| All classes are recognized at the CHS reunion.
Classes with special anniversaries or with the most
present are mentioned last for special recognition.
The class of 1956 said they were celebrating their
50th since we do no have a reunion in 2006. Someone
immediately stood up to "correct" the fact that it
was not the class of '56 50th. No class is ever
omitted. Sorry for the confusion.

| HI CLASSMATES OF 1955. THIS YR. WAS OUR 50TH. WE HAD
A WONDERFUL PRIVATE CLASS REUNION AT THE LANSFORD
AMVETS THE NITE BEFORE THE SCHOOL REUNION. SOME OF
US ATTENDED THE SCHOOL REUNION IN HAZLETON, ALSO.
ALTHO IT WAS A LOVELY AFFAIR WE WERE VERY
DISSAPOINTED THAT OUR CLASS WAS NOT MENTIONED AS
CELEBRATING OUR 50TH. INSTEAD THE CLASS OF 1956
WAS. ALTHO IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A JOKE FOR THEM IT
WAS A SERIOUS THING FOR US. 50 YRS. COMES ONCE AND
WE DESERVED RECOGNITION WHICH WE DID NOT GET. I HOPE
THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN TO ANY OTHER CLASS. SO
HAPPY 50TH, C.H.S. CLASS OF 1955. PROUD CLASS MATE

| I would love to hear from any Coaldale residents who
may remember the Stevens family from Coaldale. I
had two (2) brothers --- Bill (retired dentist) ---
Evie (deceased) and sister Marian (deceased). Our
father served on the Coaldale School Board for eight
years and was a member at the time of his death in
1948. Our Aunt Ruth (Schultz) Sneddon taught
elementary school for 45 years before retiring. I
still miss the good old days of living in Coaldale.

| Hi, I am looking for information about my father's
cousin, Rev. Neil (Cornelius) Devitt, who wasa
parish priest in Coaldale, from about 1965 to mid
80's, at St. Mary's RC Church. Fr. Neil was
originally from Ashland, very tall, and drove a VW
Beetle, which he could hardly fit into.

| My mom was from Coaldale--Olga Sobolowski. She
passed away in 1982 from cancer. I haven't been
back to Coaldale since, but it's great to see the
pictures--I remember visiting my grandparents and so

| I attended Coaldale High School and was in the first
class to graduate from Panther Valley (Class of '65).
Except for the five years in the U>S> Marines and
about a year each living in Lansford and
Nesquehoning, I've lived here almost all my life. I
plan to stay here and my ashes will be spread here.
There is NO BETTER PLACE ANYWHERE, believe me.

attend Perkiomen after ninth grade. Enjoyed the CHS
class of 1959 seeing old friends and the 1956 class
of guys I competed with.( Coaldale won 40-0
in '55). I attend the SHHS all- school reunion when
I can -- a great idea for a small school. |

| Surfing around and found this GREAT C.H.S. website.
We left for Weatherly in summer of '59 so I only got
up to freshman year at CHS. What good times they
were. Saturdays at the Angela, band trips with Geo.
Matrician, Bob Cheplick and I making funny sounds in
Latin Class! I'll always treasure those days. My
dad is almost 86 this year and now lives in
Lancaster near my sister Janet. He and Maxine are
O.K. for their age. Phil Sr. was president of class
of 1936 and I think that was the largest class.
I still get to Coaldale since my inlaws live there.
Married a Coaldale Girl! Margaret Wiessner.

| Fathers family from Coaldale. Mothers from Lansford.
Coaldale residence 119 east ridge steet. Father
Martin C. (38) died in Service 1962; brother Steve
((cls 42?) died 2002; older brother Joe class of 40
(in your pictures) died late 60's in Orange NJ. No
info on sisters who also graduated from Coaldale.
Other relatives are the Stachina's now living in
upstate New York (Barbara is Marian graduate),
brothers John( summit hill graduate)and Bernie did
not graduate and recently died in 2002. Family was
Times News Past article for tomaine poisoining as a
result of a butcher selling bad food. Grandfather
Martin Coal Miner, grandmother name (?) and she was
a seamstress. Found this out one day in a visit to
St Lukes hospital with an old timer who was sitting
in front on a Sunday. Called me over ands asked if
I was Marties son. Spoke to him for about an hour
about the family. Unfortunately he passed away
shortkly thereafter when I went to visit again. |
